Résumé

Les cas de dents de sagesse inférieures incluses ou enclavées sont de plus en plus fréquents en Afrique et plus particulièrement en Côte d’Ivoire.
Les patients sont des adultes ou des adultes jeunes qui consultent l’odontologiste lors d’accidents de désinclusion de la dent de sagesse inférieure ou qui nous sont adressés par des confrères après une tentative d’extraction avortée de la dent.

Les difficultés per-opératoires rencontrées en Côte d’Ivoire lors de la chirurgie des dents de sagesse inférieures sont en rapport avec :

  • les particularités du sujet négro-africain,
  • les limites du matériel chirurgical,
  • l’hémorragie peropératoire,
  • la situation intra-osseuse d e la dent et ses rapports avec le nerf dentaire inférieur,
  • la morphologie corono-radiculaire de la dent.

Abstract
Difficulties of surgery of wisdom teeth in dental office in Ivory Coast

Extraction of impacted inferior molars is becoming a frequent surgical intervention in Ivory Coast. Patients are mainly young adults who come for consultation due to difficult eruption of the impacted molars. They are often referred after attempted extraction by professional colleagues.

Perioperative difficulties during, extraction of inferior molars depict :

  • particular dental character of Negroid African:
  • limited surgical sundries,
  • perioperative haemorrhage,
  • intraosseous anatomical relation with inferior dental nerve,
  • corono-radicular morphology of the tooth.
