Après une étude épidémiologique en milieu scolaire à Dakar, l'état de la première molaire permanente a été étudié. Une forte prévalence de la carie dentaire a été trouvée (34 % au maxillaire, 60 % à la mandibule). 12 % des premières molaires mandibulaires doivent être extraites. Les conséquences dentaires, parodontales et occlusales de la perte précoce des premières molaires permanentes ont été étudiées.
The aim of the survey was to study the state of the first permanent molar. A high prevalence of decay was found (34 % maxillar - 60 % mandibular). The dental, periodontal, and occlusal consequences of the loss of the first permanent molar have been studied.
