L'état septique résultant d'une infection apicale, d'une infection parodontale, d'un accident d'éruption dentaire ou post-extractionnel peut se propager et conduire à des complications. Nous avons mené une étude rétrospective allant de 1995 à 1998 à propos de 161 cas, admis à l'hôpital central de Yaoundé, qui a pour but d'établir une distribution selon le sexe, l'âge, la profession, le stade infectieux, les causes de consultation tardive, ainsi que le rapport stade infectieux, étiologie, âge et profession.
