Résumé

Cette étude a un pour but d’évaluer la fréquence des dysharmonies dento-dentaires dans une population marocaine à travers le calcul de l’indice de BOLTON.
L’indice de BOLTON a été calculé chez 30 patients venant consulter au service d’orthopédie dento-faciale de Rabat grâce au traitement informatisé des images de leurs moulages.
Les résultats de cette étude présentent un pourcentage élevé de patients se situant en dehors de l’intervalle de 2 écart/type de BOLTON et donc présentant une dysharmonie significative pouvant influer sur le traitement orthodontique et donc devant être prises en compte lors de l’établissement du plan de traitement.

Abstract

This study has for purpose the evaluation of the frequency of inter-dental disharmony in a Moroccan population via the BOLTON index.
Using image processing of their dental moulds, the BOLTON index was measured in 30 patients at the Dentol-Facial Orthopedics Department of Rabat.
It results that a high percentage of patients was outside the 2 SD BOLTON interval. Several patients presented significant disharmony that could affect their orthodontic treatments and should be taken into consideration while establishing the proper treatment.
