Résumé

La carie dentaire, maladie sans prestige ni menace pour la vie, croit-on dans nos régions, est à la base de la perte des dents et des complications multiples. Cette étude a eu pour but d’évaluer la morbidité de cette pathologie dans les services d’odonto-stomatologie. Avec un nombre moyen de 4,5 dents cariées par personne et un indice moyen de morbidité de 0,15 ; la carie dentaire touche toutes les couches socio-professionnelles, sans distinction d’âge ni de sexe. Les femmes paraissent plus vulnérables à la carie, et elles consultent les services dentaires plus que les hommes. Nous sommes des édentés potentiels à cause de la carie dentaire, si des mesures de prévention et de formation en santé bucco-dentaire ne sont pas mises en action dans notre pays.

Abstract

In our regions, it is believed that dental decay is an illness without prestige or danger for the life. It’s the reason of teeth loss and many complications. The objective of this study was to valuate the morbidity of this pathology in odonto-stomatology services. With an average of 4,5 teeth decays per person and a morbidity index of 0,15 ; dental carie concern all socio-professional levels, without distinction of age or sex. Women seem more vulnerable to teeth decay, and they consult services more than men. We are potential edentulous because of dental decay, if preventive and training measures in mouth and tooth healths are not taken in our country.
