Résumé

Introduction : Les auteurs rapportent leur expérience de l’utilisation du pidolate de magnésium (ampoules buvables) comme traitement adjuvant chez des patients hypertendus sous Amlodipine 5 mg en comprimés.
Patients et méthode : Il s’agit d’une étude prospective, randomisée qui s’est déroulée pendant 6 mois dans un centre de santé privé à Abidjan en Côte d’Ivoire. Notre étude a porté sur une population mixte (hommes et femmes) constituée de 123 patients hypertendus âgés de plus de 65 ans. La pression artérielle a été prise le matin à jeun par méthode auscultatoire. Les patients ont été répartis en deux groupes et ils ont été revus en consultation, deux semaines après la mise en route du traitement pour contrôle de la pression artérielle. Le groupe N°1 comportait 61 patients qui ont reçu comme traitement de l’HTA, de l’Amlodipine 5mg comprimés à la dose d’un comprimé par jour le matin. Le groupe N°2 comportait 62 patients et ont reçu comme traitement un comprimé d’Amlodipine 5 mg le matin et du pidolate de magnésium (Mag2® ampoules buvables sans sucre) à la dose d’une ampoule le matin, à midi et le soir.
Résultats : La population d’étude était constituée de 87 hommes et 36 femmes soit un sex-ratio de 2,4. La moyenne d’âge était de 74,6 ans avec des extrêmes de 66 ans et de 102 ans. Les chiffres de pression artérielle systolique et diastolique étaient significativement abaissés chez les patients du groupe N°2 par rapport aux chiffres de pression artérielle observés chez les patients du groupe N°1.
Conclusion : L’utilisation du pidolate de magnésium comme adjuvant dans le traitement de l’hypertension artérielle a des effets bénéfiques et mérite d’être recommandée.

Summary

Introduction: The authors report their experience of using pidolate of magnesium (in drinkable phials) as a complementary treatment for hypertensed patients under Amlodipine 5mg tablets.
Patients and method: It’s a prospective and randomized study which took place during 6 months in a private health center, in Abidjan, Ivory Coast. Our study concerned a mixed population (men and women) constituted by 123 hypertensed patients aged more than 65 years old. The blood pressure was taken in the morning, with an empty stomach, by sounding method. The patients were divided into two groups and they were seen again in consultation, two weeks after the beginning of the treat-ment for the blood pressure control. The group N°1 contained 61 patients who received for treatment the HTA, a tablet a day of Amlodipine 5mg, in the morning. The group N°2 contained 62 patients and received for treatment a tablet of Amlodipine 5mg a day in the morning added with the magnesium pidolate (Mag2® drinkable phials without sugar), 3 phials a day (in the morning, at midday and in the evening).
Results: The population of study was constituted by 87 men and 36 women is a sex-ratio of 2,4. The average age was of 74,6 years with extremes of 66 years and of 102 years. The figures of systolic and diastolic blood pressure were significantly lowered within the patients of the group N°2 with regard to the figures of blood pressure observed at the patients of the group N°1.
Conclusion: Using pidolate of magnesium as additive in the treatment of the arterial high blood pressure has beneficial effects and must be recommended.
